The photos of the young women have been transmitted to investigators. Yesterday, the bodies of two young women reported missing since Friday were discovered in a ravine in the Andranomatsatso sector, in the rural commune of Ambohimanga Rova. According to the gendarmes, the bodies were found around 1:30 p.m., following an alert from the mother of one of the victims. Examinations conducted with a doctor from the Level II Basic Health Center of Ambohimanga revealed severe injuries on both deceased. The victims presented deep wounds to the neck and head, apparently caused by a sharp object. Investigators noted the absence of blood around the site, suggesting they may have been killed elsewhere before being transported and abandoned at the location. According to initial medical findings, their deaths occurred more than forty-eight hours prior. The examination also established that one of the young women had suffered sexual violence before her death.
Cinema Outing
The victims were identified as Mikaella Israele Stéphanie Nohasoavina, 21 years old, and Vololoniaina Haingotiana Samison, 17 years old, both residing at the same address in Manjakaray. The latter was to celebrate her 18th birthday next November. Friday morning, the two young women left their home for an outing to the cinema at Tanà Water Front in Ambodivona. In the afternoon, around 3:45 p.m., their phones stopped responding and their geolocation placed them in Ambohimanga Rova. The younger girl, who had just been admitted to the baccalaureate, no longer answered her family's calls, causing them to become quickly concerned. Starting the next day, relatives began searching, supported by mobilization on social media. Their last public appearance was reportedly a live stream broadcast on TikTok, according to a close acquaintance. One of them had also appeared in a music video. After medical examinations, the bodies were returned to the families for funeral ceremonies. An investigation has been opened by the territorial brigade of Ambohimanga Rova to determine the exact circumstances of their deaths and to identify any perpetrators and accomplices.
