Andavamamba: Armed Cash Point Attack Turns Tragic, One Dead
A woman was killed during a robbery. An armed attack claimed one life in Andavamamba on Thursday evening. Two women were shot, one of whom died despite medical care. According to reports, a woman working at a cash point was returning from work when she was followed by four individuals. As she waited for a taxi-be, the attackers intercepted her to snatch her bag. A struggle ensued over the bag. During this altercation, the assailants opened fire, hitting the victim in the abdomen. Another woman, who was present with a child, was also struck by a bullet. After the attack, the four individuals split into two groups. Two headed east while the other two went north, each moving at a moderate pace. The attackers managed to seize the bag before fleeing. Both victims were evacuated to a hospital. Despite treatment, Rojoniaina Randrianarison, one of the two wounded women, succumbed to her injuries. She was fatally struck in the abdomen. The exact circumstances of the attack and the identity of the four assailants remain to be determined. Investigations should shed light on this attack and help identify the suspected perpetrators.
