Young people are showing strong interest in cybersecurity. Many attended the National Cybersecurity Symposium 2026, held at Novotel Alarobia on June 22 and 23. "We are seeing genuine enthusiasm among young people, who remained engaged from start to finish," said Éric Rakotomaniraka, director general of the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) Madagascar, at the event's closing ceremony. These two days of learning gave them much deeper knowledge of cybersecurity. "At school, our courses are often very theoretical. This event was therefore a wonderful opportunity for us students, as it truly allowed us to put our skills into practice and unleash our potential," said Rakotondramparany, a third-year telecommunications student at the École supérieure polytechnique d'Antananarivo (ESPA). Several talents emerged during the Symposium's hackathon. Among them, the SFYRISEC team from the École nationale d'informatique (ENI) in Fianarantsoa, which won first prize with their Aro project. It is an innovative solution combining artificial intelligence and digital security, designed to protect Madagascar's digital future. "Malagasy talent exists. Let us give them the means to flourish," noted CIRT Madagascar.
