Ten young Malagasy volunteers are preparing to travel to France for volunteer missions lasting nine to twelve months. Among them, Henri sees this opportunity as a chance to gain personal, human, and intercultural experience. "I want to live this personal, human and intercultural experience and develop my skills as a student in the field of sustainable development," he explains.

Through his mission, Henri also hopes to discover new practices and expand his knowledge. Volunteering offers him the opportunity to put his skills to work on a mission while learning from new people and in a new environment.

The ten Malagasy volunteers will work in several fields, including education, environment and sustainable development, activities with children and young people, and support for people with disabilities. They will be welcomed in different French regions, including Île-de-France, Brittany, Normandy, and Occitanie.

This mobility is part of an exchange initiative between the two countries. Foreign volunteers have already completed missions in Madagascar, contributing to the sharing of experiences and skills between young Malagasy and their foreign counterparts.

Before their departure, the Malagasy volunteers underwent pre-departure preparation from August 18-21, organized by France Volontaires Madagascar. This stage is designed to help them better understand the realities of their mission and the conditions of their future life in France.

For Henri, this experience goes beyond a simple stay abroad. It represents an opportunity to learn, contribute to a mission, and return to Madagascar with new experiences and knowledge to share.
