A new Chamber of Commerce aims to strengthen business relations between Madagascar and South Africa. Officially presented at the Fier-Mada Economic Fair, the Madagascar South Africa Chamber (Masacham) seeks to facilitate trade, investments, and partnerships between economic operators from both countries.

The new structure primarily aims to bring together Malagasy and South African businesses. B2B meetings will enable entrepreneurs to identify partners, exchange experiences, and develop joint projects. Sharing expertise and know-how is also among its main priorities.

This initiative comes as South Africa represents an important market for Malagasy enterprises. Commercial and investment prospects offered by the country motivated the creation of this Chamber. It intends to facilitate access for Malagasy operators to the South African market and strengthen their exchanges with counterparts.

Cooperation

Several sectors are covered by this cooperation, including agriculture and agribusiness, industry, mining, tourism, energy, technology, services, and transport and logistics. These are areas where Malagasy companies could seek to diversify activities and access new markets.

The Chamber also plans to support companies in their procedures and facilitate access to market information from both countries. Bringing together entrepreneurs and investors should thus promote project implementation and establish lasting partnerships.

Masacham also intends to serve as an intermediary between the private sector and institutions. Authorities, diplomatic representations, professional organizations, and chambers of commerce can be involved in exchanges to identify obstacles to economic relations development and examine ways to address them.

Through business networking, B2B meetings, and institutional partnerships, the new Chamber seeks to strengthen economic relations between Madagascar and South Africa. Ultimately, it hopes to contribute to increased trade and investments between both countries.
