A police operation conducted Wednesday, August 19 in Trou-Fanfaron, in the Mauritian capital, led to the arrest of 22 foreign nationals in irregular situations. The intervention was carried out by the Special Team of Port-Louis Nord, under the direction of Sergeant Bundhooa. Officers conducted a raid on a house where several foreigners were staying, waking them during the operation. In total, 14 Malagasy nationals and 8 Bangladeshi were arrested. They are suspected of illegally residing on Mauritian territory. The arrested persons were taken by law enforcement for necessary procedures. Mauritian authorities continue their operations aimed at identifying and apprehending foreign nationals without legal residence status in the country.
