Rodorodon'ny Tantsaha Fair: Promoting Natural 'Vita Malagasy' Products
The 5th edition of the Rodorodon'ny Tantsaha fair is running until August 23, 2026. Organized by the Foyer des Paysans under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, the event has been held since Wednesday at Maki Stadium in Andohatapenaka. Natural 'Vita Malagasy' products are being showcased. As an example, Vanini Madagascar has developed an agricultural innovation using prickly pear cactus, abundant in the island's southern region. The project initiator extracts seeds from this fruit through cold pressing to preserve the nutritional and cosmetic properties of the vegetable oil. This 'golden oil' is already exported by Madagascar to China and Europe. A Vanini Madagascar representative stated the product sells for 700,000 Ar per kilogram. Natural Health Products. The golden oil, rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, offers natural anti-aging effects while stimulating cell regeneration. It ensures intense skin hydration while strengthening hair and nails, the promoter explains. Other natural health products and plant-based dietary supplements are selling briskly at the event. Beroberoka (dandelion) syrup, used as a detoxifier, and memory-boosting products are highly sought by consumers. Pre-cooked meals such as vary amin'anana and fried rice, along with hibiscus-based products, particularly attract visitors. Seeking Market Outlets. Natural jams without additives or preservatives, made from jujube, tomato, pumpkin, guava, soursop, and jackfruit, are also featured at this fair dedicated to promoting products from agriculture, fishing, livestock, and crafts. Miaraka Agrifood is already exporting these jam varieties through resellers, meeting international quality standards. The Rodorodon'ny Tantsaha fair aims to promote rural household products. It represents a major opportunity for farmer organizations to find market outlets while fostering exchanges among actors throughout the rural value chain and economy.
