Yrinaf will headline the 20th Smooth Night dedicated to Mariah Carey. A childhood dream transformed into a stage performance. To celebrate its 20th edition, Smooth Night places Yrinaf at the heart of an evening devoted to Mariah Carey's universe, under the theme "Mariah Carey, the voice of my childhood". On October 2nd from 8:15 PM, the Ibis Ankorondrano hotel will host this premium outdoor evening by the poolside, with approximately 400 spectators expected.

For Yrinaf, this edition represents a special milestone. Accustomed to participating in Smooth Night as a backing vocalist since 2017, she will this time be the headliner and alone carry the tribute to one of the great voices that marked her childhood. "This is the first time I'm really headlining. It's exciting, but there's also pressure," she confides. Pressure reinforced by the vocal dimension of Mariah Carey's repertoire, but also by the artist's personal choice: "It's a childhood dream. She's one of the artists who lulled my childhood, influenced the way I sing and my musical tastes".

The singer doesn't hide the magnitude of the challenge. Soul and Jazz are part of her universe, but Mariah Carey's repertoire pushes her further out of her comfort zone. "My comfort zone isn't necessarily where hers is, but you have to work. Fortunately, we're already in the preparations and we're trying to give the best of what we can offer".

The objective is to propose a show where vocal performance is accompanied by genuine artistic, scenographic and technical work. The playlist will thus seek to touch multiple generations, banking on emotion and nostalgia, but also on performance. "There are many people who lived her songs during that era," Yrinaf emphasizes. The decoration, sound, equipment and all logistics are also designed to give the show a particular identity, with a requirement for quality in both emotion and artistic aspect.

Yrinaf will therefore be front and center for this 20th edition, accompanied by Njaka, Tom, Josia and Joosia, with special guests Ken, Nanie, Nate Tex and Meva Gospel. Two hours of performance are planned to revive Mariah Carey's universe between nostalgia, elegance and vocal performance.

Malagasy singer and solo pianist, Yrinaf works primarily in Jazz, Soul and variety. From a family of musicians, she takes her first steps in singing within her family and church. In 2012, she becomes known to the general public by participating in RTA's The One show, where she finishes in third place. Two years later, she joins the Jazz Club at CGM, where she still performs today in cabarets and concerts.
