Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko received a French delegation led by Bruno Fuchs yesterday at Tsimbazaza Palace. Following a courtesy visit by a French delegation headed by Bruno Fuchs, president of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the French National Assembly, Madagascar's National Assembly president Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko outlined his position on relations between Madagascar and France. The meeting took place yesterday at Tsimbazaza Palace. According to Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko, "Madagascar is open to all relations, cooperates with all countries and does not reject France in any way." Discussions focused primarily on relations between the two nations, linked by a particular history. France remains notably Madagascar's leading partner. Elections The head of the lower chamber emphasized Madagascar's desire to end all forms of monopoly to promote open cooperation. He stressed the importance of public trust, based notably on transparency. Electoral matters were among the subjects discussed. The next elections are scheduled for July 2027 and must be transparent and accepted by all. Resolving social problems remains a priority. Several initiatives are already underway, particularly in infrastructure and access to drinking water. Investments Madagascar also seeks increased French involvement in mining sectors and investments related to natural resources. The National Assembly president thus emphasized strengthening cooperation in these areas. Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko also reaffirmed that the National Assembly remains committed to respecting the Constitution. For its part, the French delegation reiterated France's availability to support Madagascar in various fields. The Foreign Affairs Commission notably intends to leverage experiences from countries such as Congo and Senegal to contribute to the smooth implementation of reform processes. The Tsimbazaza meeting thus occurs in a context marked by Madagascar's stated willingness to maintain relations with France while developing cooperation with all its partners.
