(photo credit: Hira Fahiny Vazo Mampanembona) Madagascar's musical artistic scene is going through delicate times. According to the latest news, singer Sébastien Henri, known by his stage name Basth, has finally been discharged from CHU Analakinina Hopitaly be in Tamatave. His health condition, which led to his hospitalization, had raised serious concerns. "He was discharged today (Editor's note: yesterday), we went back home. He lives in Anjoma near the Gallois company," his son Marco Sébian explains. For now, the family cannot yet breathe easy. Medical expenses will continue to mount, as Basth requires specific care every five days. At 81 years old, he is one of the survivors of Tamatave's "Kaiamba" generation. Known as the pioneers of rock in Madagascar, though this remains a debated topic. Some argue that the Grand Port was the birthplace of post-1970s rock, while others point to the city of Tuléar. In any case, these two cities played a major role in the birth of this music in Madagascar. Maminirina Rado
