A driver is actively being sought after abandoning his semi-trailer following a fatal accident that occurred Monday evening around 7:30 p.m. on RN2 at Ampasipotsy Gare in Moramanga district. The heavy vehicle struck from behind a broken-down minibus parked on the roadside. The minibus was carrying vacationers traveling from Antananarivo to Foulpointe. The collision killed two passengers, a man and his sister, and injured three others who were hospitalized in Moramanga. Some travelers were inside the minibus while others were inspecting the engine when the truck arrived. The vehicle was thrown, crushing those in front of it. According to the Andasibe gendarmerie post, the truck's assistant driver, who was sleeping, only woke up at the moment of impact. Searches continue to locate his colleague. The road, straight but with a slight incline, was shrouded in darkness. The heavy vehicle's defective lights would not have allowed the minibus to be spotted. The investigation opened will need to establish responsibilities.
