Arnaah captivated spectators with her graceful performances and exotic charm. Majunga experienced an incandescent weekend with Star Tour 2026, transforming the city into a musical and family capital. Over 80,000 visitors attended, confirming the event's scale. "All generations found their joy," declared Iavoko Ramanitrarivo, head of internal communications and press for Star, proud of a success that exceeded expectations.
Arnaah's Brilliant Opening
On Saturday, August 15, after lively performances by Eric Fou Hehy and Barhone, Arnaah set the tone for the graciously offered shows. Surrounded by her dancers and musicians, she delivered a performance lasting over an hour, blending energy and emotion as she sang and danced simultaneously. Her rhythms borrowed from tsapiky and kawitry, with tropical RnB, pop and afrobeat influences, electrified the audience. She also presented unreleased tracks alongside all the hits that made her famous. The public was utterly captivated.
Ljo, the Live Revelation
Following her, Ljo appeared in a spectacular staging with smoke machines and dancers. His concert, rich in original compositions, alternated reggae, afro and tsapiky. Tracks like Ayah, Ramalala, Ngaoma and Mamy were sung in chorus by the crowd. The duet he usually performs with Denise on Tsy nofy marked a highlight, proving his ability to unite all generations. The artist admitted proposing slightly different versions of his songs for a breathtaking and highly dynamic show, visibly approved by the enthusiastic audience.
Ambondrona, True to Form
The following day, Ambondrona offered a two-part spectacle, faithful to his reputation. Classics like Mankasitraka, Tohizo ihany, Eny sa tsia and 7 andro resonated with intensity. Kix noted that all repertoire titles are essential to the group. The cover of Tontolo Faharoa, written by Beranto at 17, was a suspended moment: the public sang almost alone, creating rare communion. Ambondrona confirmed he remains a reliable value on the Malagasy scene.
Ckycky, a Beautiful Finale
Finally, Ckycky took over to close the festival. His energy and dancing rhythms maintained the atmosphere until the end of the night. He kept the audience dancing, remaining faithful until the final note. The sound system provided by Miritsoka, Star Tours' loyal partner, greatly contributed to the success of all performances.
A Convivial and Committed Event
Beyond concerts, Star Tour offered a pressure space, a fair, consumption stands and free entertainment that all attracted crowds. One highlight was the official reception of the renovated Filaos space, restored by Star after being destroyed by a cyclone, in collaboration with the urban municipality of the City of Flowers. Over 30 merchants found space there, strengthening the community aspect of this entertainment and living venue, intended as a focal point for this vacation destination.
Awareness and Ecology
The Kopakelatra campaign also made an impact: numerous awareness-raising activities were organized around recycling used plastic bottles. Continuing this approach, project teams and several local associations mobilized on Monday, August 17 morning for a cleanup operation at Petite plage d'Amborovy, accompanied by awareness actions on plastic waste management. This cleanup operation reflects gratitude toward Majunga for its warm welcome. It proves that celebration and responsibility can go hand in hand. Looking forward to the next edition.
