The youth group known as GSM or 'Gasy Sahy Manova', founded in 2025 by young people who feel many social issues remain unresolved by the government, has been officially launched and warmly received. The group is organizing activities this Saturday in Toamasina, calling on all citizens facing social problems to join their discussions. Their goal is solely the public good and addressing current social challenges. Many recent events are linked to GSM, including criticism of VFS or 'Vondrona fanavaozana an'i Madagasikara'. These young activists argue that the Senate should be dissolved, as it continues to create problems through political decisions made by lawmakers that the state cannot properly manage. The public meeting this Saturday will also address house destructions resulting from conflicts in Toamasina II, which damaged many homes in suburban Tanandava. The group will also discuss FID matters, which they claim pit Malagasy against each other—landlords against tenants—in assistance programs for those living in precarious conditions. Insecurity, which claims lives almost daily in Toamasina, will not be overlooked. GSM also raises concerns about CENI's current actions regarding the electoral process and the selection of fokontany leaders, noting that people not chosen by their communities have been appointed to lead them. Many fokontany in Toamasina are demanding new leader elections or the retention of current ones. The results of this public meeting organized by the GSM youth group in Toamasina remain to be seen. All are called to support these young people's appeal, as the welfare of the many is at stake.
