Public lighting expansion continues in Toamasina. A total of 104 solar streetlights have already been installed across several fokontany in the Ankirihiry and Morarano districts, according to a report released last weekend by the Regional Energy and Hydrocarbons Directorate (DREH) of Toamasina. Work is currently ongoing in the Morarano district. According to the established schedule, all planned installations should be completed by Thursday, August 20. Operating on solar energy, these facilities improve public space lighting while using renewable energy sources. The project is part of initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Energy and Hydrocarbons to improve living conditions in urban areas. Beyond better street visibility and public spaces, the streetlight installation also aims to strengthen public safety and security. It simultaneously contributes to improving the image and urban development of Toamasina city.
