Ambatovy continues its corporate social responsibility activities. The mining company supports local communities through clean water supply projects. Thus, 2,730 people living in the fokontany of Ampitambe, in the rural commune of Ambohibary, in Moramanga, now have access to clean water thanks to new gravity-fed water supply infrastructure (AEPG) financed by Ambatovy.

Identified Needs
The official inauguration of these installations took place in Ampitambe, Moramanga, on August 14, 2026. This project is part of Ambatovy's efforts to improve living conditions for communities around its sites and responds to their needs identified during discussions with local communities and the association of Ampitambe natives. "Access to clean water significantly changes the daily lives of populations. With water now available near their homes, families will spend less time and effort fetching water, while benefiting from better hygiene and sanitation conditions. This is the kind of concrete and lasting legacy we wish to leave to communities near our mining sites," said Nicolas Descraques, Manager Social Investment and Community Engagement at Ambatovy, during the inauguration ceremony.

Sustainable Solution
Launched in September 2025, the project includes a water intake system with a reinforced concrete dam and filtration system, a water reservoir, and a distribution network serving 13 water fountains distributed across the villages of Ampitambe, Ambohitranivo, Amparifohy, and Ambohinierenana. Designed to operate by gravity, this system provides a sustainable solution to the needs of a growing population. This project is part of Ambatovy's global commitment to sustainable development and also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 6, which aims to ensure access to clean water and sanitation for all.
