"The driver couldn't see the hole because it was completely submerged in water, which caused the fall," said a witness. Following heavy rains in Antananarivo, the canal became flooded, concealing the hazard. This is not an isolated incident. "This has happened three or four times already," reported another source. This cavity has existed for a long time without any action being taken. "Local residents and regular visitors to the neighborhood know about these holes. But there are no warning signs, absolutely nothing, and the hole is left wide open," lamented a resident.
