After finishing second at The Voice Afrique francophone 2026, Val is accelerating his musical projects and creating opportunities for young Malagasy talents.

Val (2nd from left) was received by Minister Gascar Fenosoa following his runner-up finish at The Voice Afrique francophone 2026.

Val is already looking beyond The Voice. Fresh from his international adventure, the young Malagasy artist is focusing on creating and mentoring talent. His first goal is releasing his own songs, particularly in Malagasy and foreign languages. A debut track about hope is already recorded and will be refined before release. He plans to compose more songs to build a musical identity uniquely his own.

But Val's vision extends beyond his personal career. He wants to organize singing competitions across Madagascar to give young talents, often without performance opportunities, a chance to showcase their potential. Eventually, he aims to establish his own production house to support these artists and help them develop their talent for the international stage. "I will invest in releasing my own songs, in Malagasy and foreign languages," he announces.

This ambition was central to his meeting with Culture and Communication Minister Gascar Fenosoa, who received him yesterday following his The Voice Afrique francophone 2026 journey. The ministry praised his commitment to promoting Malagasy culture and identity on the international stage.

Adrenaline as a Lesson

Despite his satisfaction, Val acknowledges areas for improvement. "During my preparations, I was too focused on staging and somewhat neglected voice management, which is most important," he explains. Adrenaline also caused him to lose some control, with forgotten lyrics and coordination difficulties between vocals and dance.

He remains proud of his performances, humorously recalling his "failed dance steps" and "small flights in Die With a Smile." Choreography was prepared with Leone Arden and Yua Yeden. OZI COLLECTION created his "Beat It" outfit, while Raizen designed and created his second costume.

The competition has already expanded his audience. Val highlights numerous new followers not only in Madagascar but across several African countries. This visibility serves as a springboard for future projects.

Val finished with 25.81% of votes, behind Beninese winner Saara Houansou with 60.08%. Congolese Original Ekwa placed third with 8.52%, followed by Burundian Dreamer with 5.58%.

Part of Meiway's team, Val reached the final after the K.O. round with "Lose Control" by Teddy Swims. For the finale, he performed "Beat It" by Michael Jackson and "Die With a Smile," combining singing, dance, and staging. "I'm very happy to have participated in this grand finale representing Madagascar," he shares, considering second place "the best thing that's happened to me so far."

For Val, what matters most is the pride of representing Madagascar. His Abidjan journey allowed him to showcase Malagasy music to an international audience and opens a new chapter: creating, mentoring, and providing a stage for those who don't yet have one.
