Madagascar-Saudi Arabia: Towards New Bilateral Cooperation
Madagascar's diplomatic efforts are expanding internationally. Yesterday, the Foreign Ministry in Anosy hosted a strategic meeting. Interim Minister Hanitra Velonjara Tiaray Rakotonandrasana received the credentials of H.E. Ahmad Mohamad Alwohaib, newly designated non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with residence in Mozambique. Going beyond simple protocol formalities, this exchange reaffirmed both nations' commitment to deepening bilateral ties. The two diplomats advocated a shared vision based on mutual respect, solidarity, and common progress. Beyond broad principles, the meeting proved concrete. Tourism, infrastructure, and diversification of commercial exchanges were identified as priority areas. These sectors should serve as catalysts to stimulate economic growth in a win-win dynamic. Welcoming this appointment, Antananarivo holds great hopes for this new mandate. The island nation now expects to transform these commitments into tangible achievements to strengthen friendship between the two peoples.
