Police from the Ambohimangakely district station arrested a gang rape suspect, a man involved in criminal assault. Eight individuals were arrested, with seven confirmed as primary suspects in the assault. They allegedly broke into and ransacked a private university official's residence. The suspect's hideout was also seized. Reviewing the incident: last week, a criminal gang attempted to break into the Ambohidehilahy fokontany in the Ambohimangakely area. Police responded and set up surveillance from the start. However, the suspects were not there but in Ambohipeno fokontany, Ambohimanambola commune, a different location from Ambohimangakely commune. That's where police found them. The criminals carried sharp weapons and stones, forcibly entering a woman's home. They stole money and valuable items. "Police working in both locations coordinated effectively under established procedures, with the Ambohimangakely District and Ambohimanambola Sub-district successfully apprehending all suspects," authorities stated. Through interrogation and thorough investigation by law enforcement, it emerged the gang had planned this assault long in advance. Their scheme had failed previously, but this police operation stopped them. The case was presented for prosecution the following day, and all eight men were remanded in custody at Tsiafahy prison after the investigating judge's hearing. Charges include gang rape, criminal assault, and aggravated burglary and home invasion.
