A French artist will be invited to the 2026 national festivities. The celebration of Madagascar's 66th Independence anniversary will take on an international dimension this year with the participation of Paskero. The French singer-songwriter, originally from Réunion, joins the lineup for the grand stage event scheduled for June 25 at Anosy, one of the most anticipated highlights of the national celebrations.

Known for his musical universe blending tropical influences, Latin rhythms, electro-pop and Afro sounds, the artist will bring his personal touch to a program featuring several figures from the Malagasy music scene. The audience will enjoy performances by Samoëla, Njakatiana, Sakaté Boy, Ndondolah, Lucia, Melky and Kamary. DJ X Bri will host the evening.

The centerpiece of the celebration will be a grand fireworks display illuminating the Anosy sky from 7 p.m., offering the public a spectacular moment before festivities continue.

Beyond this rich and varied lineup, the State has chosen to place live music at the heart of the performances. Several musicians have been mobilized to accompany artists on stage to prioritize live performances. This approach aims to offer more authentic representations while better showcasing the work of instrumentalists.

According to Christian Rabekoto, director general of the National Office of Arts and Culture (OFNAC) and member of the organizing committee, "this approach aims to restore live music to its rightful place and improve the quality of performances offered to the public."

Organizers have also paid special attention to sound and technical aspects to ensure better performance conditions. Through this new formula, the national festivities aim to celebrate Independence in a spirit of sharing, while highlighting Malagasy talent and artists from abroad.
