An albino child from Vangaindrano and his mother have relocated to the capital. Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, president of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar, announced he is taking them under his protection. "We brought them here to Antananarivo because they are still threatened by a possible return of their attackers. My wife and I will keep them here and will cover his school expenses," said the head of state, who received them yesterday in his office.
This is the albino child who nearly was sold in Vangaindrano. While already in the hands of criminals, he was rescued at the last moment by a special mission dispatched by the president of the Refoundation. In recognition of the military personnel, police officers and gendarmes who conducted this operation and dismantled this network of albino child traffickers in Betroka, Isoanala and Vangaindrano, the president of the Refoundation granted them a seniority bonus of six to twelve months, allowing them to obtain faster rank advancement. "The presentation of rewards and recognition of services rendered by state agents who distinguished themselves by saving lives or serving the Nation will now become a culture within the administration," declared the head of state.
