Lawmakers will scrutinize the management of public funds and monitoring of presidential projects. A parliamentary inquiry was launched yesterday at Tsimbazaza to verify the use of public resources, public procurement procedures, and the implementation of several projects. "Monitoring the financing of presidential projects" is the main focus of this inquiry, explains Sylvestre Mahavitara, deputy elected in Vangaindrano and chairman of the commission leading the investigation. Investigations will be conducted based on the 2019 budget law and reports from the Court of Accounts. The work will be carried out with the participation of all parliamentary groups, including IRMAR, two independent deputies, and four elected representatives from Firaisankina. Discussions will also be held with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (ARMP), and the General Directorate of Projects and Partnerships. Several projects will be subject to verification. The new city project Tana-Masoandro, Barea stadium, and the Fihariana project are among the files to be examined. Other projects officially attached to the Presidency but whose implementation has been entrusted to ministries will also be reviewed, including the Ehoala solar park and the Antananarivo-Toamasina highway project.
