On Tuesday, the Tsiky association delivered medical and diagnostic equipment to the pediatrics department of Androva University Hospital, including a cardiac ultrasound machine intended for vital emergencies in children. Founded in 2012, the Tsiky association works in eight public primary schools in Majunga, ensuring medical and nutritional monitoring of students. "We fight malnutrition, organize care and operations if necessary, and support children until the CEPE exam. On Tuesday, we delivered an ultrasound machine, as well as vein detectors, surgical kits, aspirators and various equipment essential for daily operations," explains Dr Joelin, the association's medical coordinator. The ceremony was held in the presence of representatives from the DRS, the medical inspector of Majunga I, officials from Androva CSB and the University Hospital, as well as partners from Réunion. This donation is part of the Vonjy project launched in 2025 to strengthen emergency care in schools and rural health centers. "Training in rural areas is essential, but we must also improve the referral center. In Majunga, the objective is to strengthen pediatric and vital emergencies through cardiac ultrasound. This is a priority," emphasizes Dr Sandrine Ernoulb, pediatrician at CHOR in Réunion. She recalls that cooperation with Majunga University Hospital has lasted four years, with training exchanges and a particular focus on pediatric cardiology. With this new equipment, the association's motto – "Health at school for all" – takes on concrete meaning, directly linking school desks to hospital services. A breakthrough that illustrates solidarity between Majunga and Réunion, serving the most vulnerable children.
