In its strong swell alert bulletin No. 076, issued on August 11 at 10:42 AM, the General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts swells coming from the South to South-West. Wave heights should be around 3 to 3.5 meters, with waves potentially reaching 4 meters in places, particularly on the South-West and South coasts. The phenomenon will first affect the coastline between Morombe and Taolagnaro, starting today at noon. From tomorrow onwards, strong swells should also impact the coasts of Melaky, Menabe, and Atsimo-Atsinanana. This situation could disrupt maritime activities, particularly navigation and vessel movements. Economic activities dependent on the coast could also be affected. Caution is recommended at sea.
