Jirama: Continued Improvement of Distribution Infrastructure
Jirama technicians worked yesterday at the Ambodivona substation to replace a damaged electrical cable that had caused power outages in areas served by line no. 11, according to the state-owned utility. The work restored the equipment and returned the installation to normal operation. Beyond this immediate intervention, the incident highlights the importance of distribution network reliability in improving service quality. As Jirama pursues several projects aimed at increasing electricity production capacity and gradually reducing power cuts, improving transport and distribution infrastructure remains a major undertaking. Increasing electricity supply must go hand in hand with strengthening and securing the network to limit technical failures and outages, and ensure more stable power supply to users.
