The tragedy occurred on Saturday, August 8, in the afternoon around 3:30 p.m., at a hotel located in Mandrosoa Ivato, near RN52, in the Ambohidratrimo district. The victim, a 43-year-old Ghanaian national, was alone in the establishment when she suddenly collapsed while about to check into a room. The woman was providing her information to the receptionist when she gradually lost strength and slumped in her chair. Alerted, hotel staff quickly called for medical assistance. Upon arrival, the doctor could only confirm her death. Initial observations at the scene noted the presence of dark liquid around the mouth and nose. Several medications were also found in the deceased's bag, along with her clothes, mobile phone, and passport. Elements gathered during the initial medical examination suggest sudden cardiac arrest. This hypothesis remains to be confirmed by forensic examination. Notified of the incident, the territorial gendarmerie brigade of Ambohidratrimo, through the Mandrosoa Ivato outpost, immediately went to the scene after being alerted by hotel management. Hierarchical authorities were informed and initial findings recorded. The body was then transported to the CHU-JRA morgue in Antananarivo, pursuant to a qualified person requisition, for autopsy. This measure should help establish the exact cause of death with greater precision. The South African Embassy was informed of the death, given the victim's nationality.
