A man described as a hardened criminal known for his illegal activities, particularly burglaries, was fatally shot by the National Police during the night of August 9 in Ambositra. The confrontation occurred on the road leading to the cattle market in the fokontany of Ankazotokana, Ambositra. According to initial information from police, the individual had just committed a theft when he encountered a patrol. The situation reportedly escalated quickly. The man allegedly resisted law enforcement and attempted to use a firearm against the officers. Police responded, fatally wounding him. During the intervention, 13 Kalashnikov bullets and a homemade firearm were reportedly found on him. Police describe him as a known individual for burglary offenses and suspect him of leading a criminal organization.
