Colonel Michaël Randrianirina placed Madagascar's Refoundation at the center of his speech delivered on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Fiangonana Apokalypsy Manerantany (FAM), celebrated Saturday, August 8 at Mahamasina stadium. The president of the Republic's Refoundation called on Malagasy citizens to change their mentality, combat corruption, and prioritize solidarity to accompany the country's transformation. For Michaël Randrianirina, Refoundation must begin at the level of each citizen. Beyond expected changes in the conduct of public affairs, he considers it essential to act on individual behaviors and values that structure society. "Together, let us renovate Madagascar. Let us begin by renewing our minds and our souls. Let us renovate our nation, reject corruption, reject selfishness and financial greed, and let us love one another, we Malagasy," he declared before the faithful. Through this statement, the colonel directly linked the success of Refoundation to a change in practices. Corruption, selfishness, and excessive pursuit of money are among the behaviors he calls to abandon. His speech thus places individual responsibility alongside public action in the transformation process underway in Madagascar. Michaël Randrianirina also emphasized the need to transcend religious affiliations when national interest is at stake. After saluting the thirty years of FAM's existence, he reaffirmed his willingness to support those who dedicate their prayers to Madagascar. "Whoever the person, whatever their religion or church, if they are currently praying for the nation, I will come to attend the event and pay them tribute," he affirmed. The president of Refoundation also resorted to spiritual language to address the country's situation. According to him, "darkness" still seeks to dominate Madagascar. He wished the Church to continue its mission to help "illuminate" the nation. He also shared part of his personal testimony, evoking trials he has endured and dreams he claims to have had before his religious commitment. His intervention then addressed a concrete issue of Refoundation: food sovereignty. Returning to his trip to Egypt, Michaël Randrianirina announced cooperation in the rice sector. Seeds provided by Egyptian partners are to be tested in Madagascar and Malagasy technicians could benefit from training with Egyptian specialists. The stated ambition is to improve local production and gradually reduce the country's dependence on rice imports. The colonel also announced a contribution of 40 million ariary. Twenty million are to support travel and meal expenses for the faithful who came from the regions, while an additional 20 million are intended for those caring for young children and the most destitute. At Mahamasina, Michaël Randrianirina thus presented Refoundation as an approach that must combine change in mentality, fight against corruption, national unity, solidarity, and development.
