Ambohipo: Police Raids on Bars and Brothels
A large-scale enforcement operation was conducted Thursday night in Ambohipo and surrounding neighborhoods. Law enforcement carried out raids on bars, entertainment establishments, and brothels to enforce the law and strengthen efforts against insecurity. This operation, jointly conducted by police from the precinct responsible for the second district of Antananarivo municipality, the district chief of Antananarivo II, and local security committee officials, aimed to restore order in this neighborhood, known for various forms of delinquency. During the raids, police checked bars that continued operating beyond the legal closing time of 9 p.m. Operating licenses were also verified, as was compliance with obligations imposed by current regulations. Establishment managers were reminded of their duties and urged to strictly respect opening and closing hours, as well as all legal provisions, to prevent public disorder and security incidents. Checks also covered clients present in entertainment establishments and brothels. Particular attention was paid to protecting minors, with law enforcement ensuring their access to these venues was prevented in accordance with current legislation. According to authorities, this type of operation will now be conducted regularly to enforce the law, strengthen public security, and guarantee a safer environment for residents of Ambohipo and neighboring districts.
