The Minister of Economy and Finance, alongside the Minister of Interior and Decentralization, met with authorities from the Alaotra Mangoro region. Strengthening decentralization is among the State's priorities to accelerate local development. Minister of Economy and Finance Dr Ramiarison Herinjatovo Aimé reiterated this during a meeting with local officials at the Alaotra Mangoro regional office in Ambatondrazaka, on the sidelines of the Manandratra Economic Fair. According to the minister, decentralized territorial authorities (CTD) and deconcentrated technical services (STD) can develop and present projects that directly address population needs. These initiatives can then benefit from direct support from technical and financial partners. The central State supports this approach, considered closer to local realities. It should notably accelerate project implementation, better target needs, and reduce certain costs. The minister emphasized the need to strengthen the absorption capacity of CTD and STD, as well as their abilities in project preparation, execution, and financial management. Recourse to experts may be considered if necessary, with State support, to ensure investments produce concrete results for the population.
