Found at Imerintsiatosika after disappearing from Anosibe, a teenager was eventually identified by police despite initially giving incoherent explanations. Police informed the teenager's family of her discovery. Officers managed to identify the family of a 14-year-old girl whose disjointed responses initially puzzled investigators. On Thursday, the girl was found alone at Ankazondandy in Imerintsiatosika before being taken to the police station. She claimed to be from Imerintsiatosika, then Ampitatafika. Police took her to this municipality in Atsimondrano district, but once there, she changed her story and said it was Ampitatafika in Antanifotsy on RN7. Faced with these inconsistencies, authorities decided to transfer her to the Morals and Child Protection Police unit in Tsaralalàna. During further questioning, she claimed to have been abandoned by her aunt in Anosy. She eventually revealed her identity. Investigators confirmed she was the same teenager reported missing early that morning from Ivolaniray, Anosibe. She had left home around 5:50 a.m. and failed to return, prompting her family to issue a search alert. Described as mixed-race and mentally sound, she was wearing black jogging pants, burgundy trousers, and a black friendship bracelet when she disappeared. Her worried family urged anyone with information to immediately contact authorities. Police confirmation linked the two reports and ended the uncertainty. However, the exact circumstances of her disappearance remain unclear, and investigators are now trying to reconstruct them. Her case is not isolated. The same day, two girls aged 3 and 11, missing since August 4, were found asleep at Andravoahangy market thanks to cooperation between police and their families. According to their father, they suffered violence that drove them to flee their home in Ampandrana. They were handed over to Tsaralalàna investigators for care. These serial disappearances, sometimes linked to runaways and sometimes to abductions, worry parents, especially since about ten victims have already been found dead. Gustave Mparany
