For the past two weeks, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, president of the Refoundation of the Republic, has been multiplying high-level political talks. These meetings, organized notably at Iavoloha Palace and Ambohitsorohitra, are part of SADC recommendations, which place inclusive dialogue at the center of the transition exit and election organization. As recently as Thursday, the Refoundation president met with Norbert Lala Ratsirahonana, former head of state, founder of the AVI party and former close collaborator of former president Andry Rajoelina. He was accompanied by current national president of the Zavamanitra party Andriamiharivolamena. Indeed, several figures from the national scene have already been received. Former presidents Marc Ravalomanana and Hery Rajaonarimampianina were welcomed at Iavoloha Palace. Mid-week, at Ambohitsorohitra, the transition leader also received KMT delegates as well as Hajo Andrianainarivelo, leader of the Malagasy Miara-Miainga party (MMM), former minister and former presidential election candidate. The notion of inclusivity remains a sensitive point. SADC believes that a selective process cannot be accepted. On the side of Andry Rajoelina's supporters, it is stated that the former head of state must participate in discussions. Otherwise, they indicate, the process risks losing credibility with the international community. So far, the Refoundation authorities have not publicly responded to this request. On the institutional level, formations such as HVM, TIM and MMM already occupy positions within the government, notably through the presence of ministers from TIM in the government. A political agreement signed by the two former heads of state, Marc Ravalomanana and Hery Rajaonarimampianina, and the current president of the Refoundation, Colonel Michael Randrianirna, could soon be formalized. What follows will depend on the direction chosen by the Refoundation: further expand the circle of negotiations, in line with SADC expectations, or continue discussions with the actors already received at the State Palace.
