A fire broke out yesterday morning in the Ankadindramamy neighborhood, causing panic among residents. A chaotic crowd gathered at the scene. Some shouted that a child was still trapped inside the burning house. Emergency services confirmed, however, that there were no casualties. Firefighters reported receiving the alert at 8:56 a.m. A team from the Andravoahangy fire station arrived ten minutes later. The fire, which started in a single-story wooden house, was brought under control in fourteen minutes. According to them, the fire was triggered by a child playing with fire inside the home. The National Police offered a different account. In their report, they stated that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit caused by a power pole located nearby. The fire spread and reduced the house and its contents to ashes. Agents added that electricity was restored by Jirama after the intervention. No loss of life was reported. However, all of the family's belongings were destroyed, according to witnesses. Gustave Mparany
