Another burglary occurred in the Morafenokely fokontany, within the Maevatanàna municipality in the highlands on the night of June 22, 2026, around 8 a.m. According to information gathered, three men entered from the back of the house carrying sharp weapons, with one blocking the front door. They cut the Jirama power line with a knife to plunge the two residents into darkness before entering the home. The intruders were startled when they discovered a young man inside the house they had targeted, causing them to flee hastily. The homeowner jumped from the eastern roof, a height of about five meters. The criminals then fled southward along the escape route. Police and security forces arrived at the scene, but the perpetrators had already disappeared. Notably, no deaths were recorded and no injuries or property damage occurred during the incident. At the time of publication, two witnesses have identified one of the three burglars. The investigation by law enforcement authorities continues.
