Last week, a Starex vehicle that had been stolen and reported missing was found by police conducting an anti-crime operation. According to the police investigation, the suspects had used sedatives to incapacitate the vehicle owner's family. When the owner lost consciousness, they were beaten and locked in the basement of a house in Namontana. The theft was discovered the following morning when family members found them between houses in Anosibe. This led to an extensive search coordinated by the BC unit in Anosy. Three suspects were arrested, including one woman. The investigation revealed that the vehicle had been taken to Ambohimanga where it was hidden for a day before being stolen. The owner and family were also questioned, and the vehicle was seized. Technicians examined the car to determine what items the suspects may have taken. The investigation into the attempted vehicle theft continues. Authorities decided to stop the vehicle when they realized the search was intensifying. Social media users played a significant role in spreading information about the incident and the vehicle, which may have helped prevent further thefts.
