Less than two months after its inauguration, the Ambohidratrimo Public Security Police Station is already delivering concrete results. Through investigations conducted by its detectives, nearly 60 million ariary have been recovered in connection with two separate burglary cases, while two suspects have been arrested. The first case dates back to July 25. A school in Andakana was targeted in a break-in. The perpetrators fled with a safe containing over 10 million ariary, as well as computer equipment. Police investigations quickly pointed suspicion toward a school employee. When questioned, the suspect confessed and led investigators to where he had hidden the safe, computers, and the remainder of the stolen sum—2.05 million ariary. Referred to the prosecutor on July 31, he was placed in provisional detention. In a second incident occurring on the night of July 25 in Ambohitrimanjaka, a burglary resulted in the theft of 50 million ariary in cash and gold jewelry. Following investigative work and intelligence gathering, police arrested a suspected accomplice accused of facilitating the main perpetrator's escape. During questioning, he confessed and revealed where 40 million ariary had been buried in Analavory-Ifanja. The money was recovered and returned to its owner. The search continues for the main perpetrator, still at large. In total, nearly 60 million ariary have been recovered through these two operations, demonstrating the effectiveness of Ambohidratrimo Police Station detectives.
