A circumcision ceremony or famorana taking place in the middle of a street. The Municipality of Bemasoandro Itaosy is strengthening measures to preserve public order during famorana and famadihana ceremonies. Through a municipal decree, authorities aim to better regulate these festivities to limit disruptions caused to road users and residents.

According to Mayor Jimmy Ranitratsilo, ceremonies must no longer disrupt traffic. Processions and gatherings that occupy roads or block vehicle passage are now prohibited. This measure aims to ensure traffic flow while allowing families to perpetuate their traditions in compliance with regulations.

The decree also addresses noise disturbances. Nighttime noise is permitted only until 9 p.m. Beyond this hour, authorization issued by the Municipality is mandatory to continue festivities. A provision designed to balance cultural practices with respect for residents' peace.

The mayor also warned that those who fail to comply with these new provisions risk intervention by municipal authorities. Municipal services may end festivities organized without authorization or not respecting the rules set by the decree.

Through this initiative, the Municipality of Bemasoandro Itaosy seeks to establish better balance between preserving Malagasy customs and maintaining public order. Authorities invite organizers of famorana and famadihana to contact the Municipality before any event to obtain necessary authorizations and ensure proper conduct of ceremonies.
