A particularly brutal murder was discovered Sunday morning in Miarinarivo district. A 65-year-old woman was found beheaded at her residence, her head remaining missing despite extensive searches. The horrific discovery was made on Sunday, August 2 around 7:40 AM in the fokontany of Anjahana, rural commune of Mandiavato, Miarinarivo district. Alerted by the fokontany chief, elements from the Mandiavato gendarmerie outpost, accompanied by the head of the Basic Health Center (CSB), immediately went to the scene to conduct initial investigations. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 65-year-old woman who lived alone in a modest dwelling. The victim was lying on her bed. While no signs of struggle or scratches were found on her body, significant blood traces were visible on the bed and a wall of the house. The investigations revealed a chilling detail: the victim had been beheaded and her head had disappeared. According to the doctor who conducted initial observations, death occurred approximately twelve hours before the body was discovered. Search efforts in the surrounding area to locate the victim's head have remained unsuccessful thus far. After standard procedures, the body was handed over to the family for burial. The motives behind this act of extreme violence remain unknown at this time, leaving many questions unanswered. Given the gravity of this case, the gendarmerie has significantly reinforced its operations. About twenty military personnel have been mobilized to track down the perpetrator or perpetrators of this particularly heinous crime, while the Mandiavato outpost now benefits from additional reinforcements as part of the investigation. This murder of rare cruelty occurs in a context where feelings of insecurity continue to grow in several localities across the country.
