Over four days, July 29-31 and August 1st, more than 130 stands were set up on the esplanade of Antsiranana's city hall. Alongside exhibitors from the three production sectors, neighboring islands, notably Réunion and Mayotte, also participated. Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Michela Andriamadison graced this twelfth edition with her presence. For Laou-po Wilfrid, president of Antsiranana's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and one of the fair's initiators, Meva Fair ranks among the most important in the southwestern Indian Ocean region. "Madagascar's regions and sister islands are represented. We can therefore speak of a major gathering," he emphasized. Thousands of visitors welcomed the initiative of northern entrepreneurs. The ambition remains unchanged: to highlight local products, craftsmanship, and know-how. After a difficult period, the DIANA region is gradually regaining momentum. This upturn rests primarily on the determination of the territory's key stakeholders. The challenge extends beyond the business world alone. Regional directorates of Agriculture and Food Security, Livestock, Commerce, and Industry are combining efforts to advance Madagascar's northern tip. Alongside them, small and medium enterprises contribute essential support to this dynamic. Meva Fair is therefore far more than a simple product exhibition and sale. It reflects a shared commitment to strengthen sectors, consolidate the value chain, and create bridges between producers, processors, and consumers. Minister Michela Andriamadison encouraged participants and organizers to continue on this path, convinced it represents a lever for accelerating regional and national development. For his part, DIANA region chief Francio Louis Marovavy stressed the importance of uniting productive sector actors. According to him, this synergy remains one of the surest means of combating poverty. It should also be noted that this marks the first time a government member has participated in Antsiranana province's largest fair. A gesture praised by the event's promoters, who expressed their gratitude. Beyond exhibition spaces, conferences, exchange meetings, and forward-looking discussions marked these four days, confirming that Meva Fair has become far more than an ephemeral market: a place where northern ambitions take shape.
