After years of severe water shortage, residents of several neighborhoods in Katsepy commune, Mitsinjo district, are finally seeing their daily lives transformed. Twelve public water fountains now provide clean drinking water to the population thanks to a partnership between the HASENE Foundation and the AHE Mandomba association (Humanitarian Action and Mutual Aid), with support from Turkey. For years, families traveled long distances to fetch water, exposing themselves to numerous health risks. Today, high-pressure boreholes, pumps, and a network of public fountains allow thousands of residents to access clean water near their homes. Beyond improving living conditions, this achievement represents a genuine development catalyst. Access to water helps preserve public health, facilitates children's schooling as they are no longer needed for water collection, and strengthens the dignity of beneficiary communities. For AHE Mandomba association leaders, this project goes far beyond simply installing hydraulic infrastructure: it is a concrete act of solidarity that addresses a vital need and places human beings at the center of priorities. The inauguration of these twelve public fountains marks an important milestone for Mitsinjo district. Residents and local authorities hope this initiative will pave the way for other development projects so that every household can eventually benefit from sustainable access to clean drinking water, a fundamental right for all.
