New disruptions are expected in Malagasy airspace. Trade unions within ASECNA's Representation in Madagascar have announced a strike from August 5-7, 2026. According to these organizations, this action follows a notice of strike regularly filed with the competent authorities. During these three days, air navigation activities will be severely limited. The unions indicate, however, that a minimum service will be maintained to ensure priority flights. "Notably authorized will be flights carrying heads of state and government, as well as state aircraft, subject to prior filing of a flight plan. Medical evacuations, search and rescue operations, as well as flights of an exclusively humanitarian nature may also be ensured," they communicated to the media. Other flights risk experiencing delays, schedule changes, or cancellations during the period in question. Passengers are invited to contact their airlines to verify whether their flights will proceed. Through this statement released yesterday, the trade unions aim to allow users, partners, and air operators to take necessary measures to minimize inconvenience.
