Andoharanofotsy - Burglary Suspect Handed Over to Gendarmes
A 17-year-old teenager was handed over to gendarmes in Andoharanofotsy after being caught red-handed committing burglary. On the night of July 29, around 11 p.m., he allegedly climbed onto a roof overlooking the street before entering a neighboring house through the second floor. Taking advantage of the occupants' sleep, he allegedly stole several items before leaving the scene. Alerted by a witness, the victim organized a pursuit and intercepted him early morning on July 30, around 5:30 a.m., in Mandrimena, in the Iavoloha district. He was still carrying the stolen goods on him. He admitted to the facts and explained that he intended to resell the items at La Réunion Kely. Investigations revealed that the goods came from three different homes. The victims had stolen from them a pressure washer, a cooking pot, 35,000 ariary, two batteries, two solar panels, a bicycle, an air filter, and a metal piece from a ping-pong table. The suspect was taken into custody. The seized items were kept as evidence pending their legal return. Victims were invited to file complaints.
