Young participants demanded compliance with the provisions outlined in the Terms of Reference. The National Youth Consultation for Refoundation held yesterday at CCI Ivato was marked by disagreement over participant representation modalities. Following exchanges between various stakeholders, the situation was eventually resolved, allowing discussions to continue until the meeting's closure today. The question of regional delegation participation was at the heart of the debates. According to information gathered, the Terms of Reference (TOR) established before the meeting stipulated the presence of two representatives per region, tasked with conveying concerns and proposals from young people in their territories. However, a modification of this provision was reportedly announced during proceedings, triggering reactions from several delegates. They advocated for compliance with the initially planned provisions, arguing that each region should be able to express itself fully within this national consultation. Recommendations This situation brings back to the center of discussions the question of the place accorded to young people in the refoundation process. For some participants, representativeness constitutes a major issue so that recommendations from the work can reflect the realities and expectations of different regions of the country. Recommendations from discussions will be presented at the end of the meeting. Discussions on the choice of state organization system also animated exchanges during the National Youth Consultation at CCI Ivato. Following the debates, the "Fanjakana tokana" or unitary state garnered the most votes, supported by 11 regions, against 10 regions favoring the "Fanjakana federaly" or federal state. Two regions opted for a regionalized system, while the Atsinanana region delegation chose not to take a position. It remains to be seen whether these choices expressed by regional representatives truly reflect the opinion of all young people they are supposed to represent. A question that continues to fuel reactions following this national consultation.
