L., who claimed he was detained at Andoharanofotsy gendarmerie—information denied by the latter. R. L. was taken into custody as part of the investigation. The following day, July 29, the man returned home. He explained that he had spent two days at his ex-wife's house to visit their children and had deliberately hidden his presence from his current wife, fearing the search efforts. He stated he was neither assaulted nor kidnapped. His ex-spouse admitted to lying during her initial interrogation. The man was questioned by investigators to clarify the circumstances of this voluntary disappearance.
