The Miss Madagascar Committee has announced its decision not to present a candidate for the international Miss World 2026 competition. This carefully considered choice aims to provide more time and resources for thorough preparation, enabling Madagascar's next representative to represent the country with a strong identity, better preparation, and genuine showcasing of its cultural wealth.
For the Miss Madagascar Committee, representing the country on the international stage goes beyond a beauty pageant. This adventure is primarily an opportunity to showcase Madagascar differently, highlighting its human resources, cultural diversity, solidarity values, and hope-driven initiatives led by its representatives.
Through this vision, the Committee seeks to strengthen participation based on commitment, social action, and community service, remaining faithful to the "Beauty With a Purpose" concept, which places human impact and social causes at the heart of the Miss World experience.
The Committee wishes to thank all those who shared remarks, suggestions, and encouragement in recent years. These various inputs, expressed with passion and attachment to Madagascar's image, have been considered and constitute important elements in reflecting on the country's next participation.
Since 2012, five representatives have had the honor of defending Madagascar's colors at Miss World. Building on this experience, the Committee now wishes to construct more coherent, deeper, and more impactful participation, in line with its desire to promote Malagasy identity on the international stage.
In this dynamic, the CMM will launch preparations for the Miss Madagascar 2027 national edition starting in August. The future winner will have the mission of officially representing Madagascar at the international Miss World 2027 competition. The Committee aims to establish an organization meeting the highest standards in communication, events, and candidate support.
To implement this new phase, a call for applications will be opened to recruit an experienced communication and events agency. The selected partner will be responsible for designing, planning, coordinating, and implementing all activities related to organizing the Miss Madagascar 2027 grand finale, in accordance with professional requirements established by the Committee.
Applications will be open from Monday, August 3 to Saturday, August 22, 2026, a twenty-day period. Through this approach, the Miss Madagascar Committee affirms its commitment to relaunching the national competition under the best conditions and preparing a representative capable of proudly carrying Madagascar's image, values, and culture at Miss World 2027.
