Health: Mercy Ships Treats Thousand Patients
Mercy Ships teams continue surgical operations in Toamasina. Nearly thirteen hundred patients are undergoing surgical procedures conducted by Mercy Ships through December in Toamasina. The interventions cover multiple medical specialties, based on the needs of patients selected following consultations. Since the beginning of the year, Mercy Ships teams have traveled to several regions of Madagascar to organize medical consultations. This stage made it possible to identify people requiring surgical care and prepare their admission for operations. A call was launched to people wishing to benefit from an intervention. Selection consultations began in February. After evaluations carried out by medical teams, eligible patients received an appointment for their operation in Toamasina. Interventions are scheduled through the end of the year. Patients receiving care benefit from support adapted to their situation, as part of Mercy Ships' humanitarian mission to provide surgical care to those in need. Fanilo Mampianintsoa
