Starting August 5, music lovers will have five days to immerse themselves in a universe where pure jazz, traditional music, free improvisations and unprecedented fusions intersect. Born in 2011, the event, co-organised by the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo, the Germano-Malagasy Circle and the Jazz Club du CGM, has established itself as an unmissable meeting point. Over the years, it has become an open stage where established musicians, young talents and artists from diverse backgrounds meet at historically charged sites such as Tranompokonolona Isotry or the steps of Tohatohabato in Antaninarenina, from which the event takes its name. Concerts, workshops, meetings and community activities are planned for this fifteenth edition, designed for all generations, from curious enthusiasts to seasoned professionals. The programme certainly illustrates the diversity of musical dialogues. The Raozy Gasy group, bearer of vakodrazana, will resonate Malagasy traditions in a vibrant exchange with jazz. Alongside them, 18,3, a figure of Malagasy hip-hop, will remind us that this festival imposes no boundaries: it welcomes those who want to play, listen or simply share a moment of music. Each day will bring its own colour: children will open the festivities with Jazz Kids at Tranompokonolona Analakely, an introduction to the stage to give them confidence before their first audience. Alongside a Jazz VIP evening bringing together artists and partners, Jazz Quartier will set up in an Isotry alley to meet residents. The steps of Tohatohabato in Antaninarenina will also become the stage for Jazz Street, an open stage for all musicians. Finally, the Main Stage will close the festival with over twenty formations, including the Jazz Club du CGM and international guests, before nearly three thousand expected spectators. Sound reinforcement for all these performances will be provided by MiRitsoka Production, recognised for its professionalism and reliability.
