Corruption prevention begins in training schools. Based on this principle, the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO) opened workshops yesterday at the Antsirabe Military Academy (ACMIL) dedicated to designing and updating integrity training modules for future officers, police and gendarmes. The ceremony, chaired by BIANCO's director general, took place in the presence of the Antsirabe Military Academy commander, the secretary general of the Antsirabe Prefecture, the cabinet director of the Vakinankaratra Region, and the representative of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) for the Indian Ocean. Various speakers emphasized the need to strengthen corruption prevention from the initial training of future leaders of defense and security forces. The ACMIL commander notably praised an initiative that brings together, for the first time, the main military, police and gendarmerie training schools around a common objective: promoting a culture of integrity. BIANCO's director general recalled that fighting corruption is primarily based on behavioral change and individual accountability. He stressed that these workshops are part of implementing the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, the National Strategy to Combat Corruption 2025-2030, and the State's General Policy for Refoundation (PGE-R). Educational guides The work will develop new integrity-focused modules to be integrated into training programs at the Antsirabe Military Academy, the National Police School, and the National Gendarmerie School in Ambositra. Teaching guides for instructors and manuals for students will also be developed. The International Organization of the Francophonie representative highlighted the importance of prevention and education in fighting corruption. He also praised the technical and financial support from the Swiss Confederation's embassy to this initiative. By strengthening the training of future defense and security force leaders, BIANCO aims to make integrity a principle of governance and public service from the start of their careers.
