A tragic accident occurred in Tsaramasay Ankorondrano yesterday morning. A two-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on the small road connecting Tsaramasay to Village de jeux Ankorondrano. According to eyewitness accounts, the incident happened around 9 a.m. An unregistered Toyota Land Cruiser suddenly hit the child. The boy was walking with his mother, who was holding his hand. When the mother saw the vehicle approaching, she quickly released the child's hand and tried to save herself. At that moment, the vehicle suddenly appeared and struck the child. The impact threw him violently, and he fell under the vehicle's wheels. His head was crushed by the wheels. Witnesses reported that his skull was severely fractured. He died instantly. Police arrived quickly after being notified and began investigations while trying to calm the gathered crowd. The BMH also arrived to collect the body and transport it to the HJRA morgue. The driver of the unregistered vehicle was taken into custody at the police station for questioning. After the accident, authorities reminded everyone about road safety responsibilities, whether pedestrians, drivers, or road users. The road connecting Tsaramasay and Ankorondrano is quite narrow but heavily trafficked. It is a small road that follows the C3 water channel (Andriantany), but many vehicles and motorcycles from Ankazomanga use it as a shortcut when heading to or from Ankorondrano. This is not the first serious accident on this road. Previously, vehicles and motorcycles have crashed into ditches, though no lives were lost in those incidents.
