Users of RN 58 A between Ampasika and Anosizato will need to change their route starting this evening until Saturday morning. The section between the Anosipatrana intersection (KM 3+900) and Anosizato bridge (KM 3+000) will be completely closed to traffic from Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 9 p.m. to Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 4 a.m., announced the Ministry of Public Works yesterday.
This measure is part of the official ceremony launching construction of the Anosizato fly-over, scheduled for the afternoon of July 31.
A diversion will be put in place to maintain traffic flow. Vehicles coming from Ampasika can use the route passing through Anosipatrana, Anosibe, and Anosizato-Atsinanana to reach Anosizato.
The Ministry of Public Works also announced temporary traffic interruption on the section connecting Fasan'ny Karana Shell station (KM 1+300) to Anosizato roundabout (KM 3+000) throughout July 31. However, traffic will remain open in the Anosizato roundabout-Ankadimbahoaka direction, while RN1 will remain fully accessible.
Traffic regulation will be managed by competent services at Anosizato roundabout starting Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Users already fear significant delays on this route. "This route is already regularly congested in normal times. With complete closure of one section and partial closure of another, the situation could be particularly critical, especially since priority passage of official convoys could worsen congestion," said motorist Aina Rakotoaritsifa.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, these exceptional traffic regulation and temporary closure measures are intended to ensure user safety and proper conduct of the event.
